Burglaries and thefts are not limited to just nighttime hours. Recently we have taken reports of daytime residential burglaries in Highland Park. Our investigators are reviewing these cases in an attempt to determine if the offenses are related in any way. At this point they appear to be independent of one another. One of the victims observed a suspicious male around her property, but at the time did not feel she needed to call 9-1-1. As a reminder, please report any suspicious activity to 9-1-1 immediately. Keep an eye out for unusual activity around your neighbor’s house, construction sites and area businesses. Have you ever been suspicious of an occupied car parked in one spot for an extended period of time? This is positively a good reason to call 9-1-1. Double check the doors and windows in your home to confirm they lock properly. Make it a habit to set your alarm system.
